The Picture Person Program is conducted during the school year by several qualified volunteers.
Students are given presentations about well-known artists and participate in hands-on projects.
Explaining Art
Carol Fox, Manistee Art Institute's Picture Person, explains Gauguin's painting "Woman With A Mango" to Nikki Haik, a fourth grader at Madison Elementary School. Fox visited Julie Johnson's art classes to explain Gauguin's life in the tropics and inspire a paper flower project. The student's flowers will be used as decoration for their school carnival.
