A PEACE EXHIBIT 2010: THE LOOK OF PEACE

What does peace look like for the artist?

A picture is worth a thousand words. If we cannot imagine the look of peace, how will we achieve and build it? What does it look like to an artist? You now have a chance to address this subject and make an artistic statement.
Peace is not just the absence of conflict.  It is the presence of community, fairness, environmental sustainability, economic opportunity for all, and just plain love.  It's work that is good.  Play that's good.  It's respect for each other, and for nature.

This exhibit is a collaboration between the Manistee Area Peace Group and the Manistee Art Institute.

WE ARE INVITING ALL ARTISTS IN THE MANISTEE AREA OR SURROUNDINGS TO ENTER THIS EXHIBIT OF “THE LOOK OF PEACE.” ADULTS AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS MAY SUBMIT WORK. ALL MEDIA IS ACCEPTABLE, INCLUDING POSTERS. WORK MAY BE EITHER ABSTRACT, REALISTIC, CONTEMPORARY OR COMBINATION.

Announcements on registration will be in the Manistee Art Institute 3rd quarter newsletter that includes August.

For purposes of selection, work will be juried by the Manistee Art Institute.

For questions, please call Joan Alflen 889-9599 or Josh Swenson 723-4395.
